Plugin UI: text drawn by mods can't be selected on the desktop

What: Text a mod draws (Text, Markdown, in a Pane or the AbovePrompt band) can't be selected with the mouse on the desktop Code tab. Transcript text can. No prop opts in, and $.ui.selection() reads only transcript rows.

Why it matters: I read text aloud with a global hotkey that speaks the current selection (an accessibility habit). Everything a mod shows is out of its reach, so each mod has to add its own «read this» buttons. The same goes for plain copy: a long line in a pane can't be copied.

Request, any of:

1. Mod text selectable by default on the desktop, as transcript text is (buttons and inputs excluded).
2. A selectable prop on Text / Markdown / Box.
3. $.ui.selection() also answering a selection inside a mod's pane or band.
