Problem Statement

I keep custom skills as source folders and install them in my claude.ai account so they sync to Cowork and Claude Code. When Cowork produces a .skill file, it shows a one-click Install button that updates the account skill. In the desktop app’s Code tab, the same .skill file card only opens Finder. Claude Code also has no tool or CLI command to upload or update an account skill: sync is download-only, and the docs list the website’s zip upload as the only route.

Proposed Solution

Request: a way to install or update an account skill from Claude Code. Any of these would do: an Install button on .skill file cards in the Code tab (same as Cowork), a claude skills upload <folder|zip> command, or a built-in tool the agent can call with my approval. Please also say whether re-uploading a skill replaces it or adds a duplicate.
