Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

With a cloud session linked to my Mac, computer use can screenshot Device Hub (iOS Simulator, iPhone 18 Pro, iOS 27.0), but every full-screen input action into the Device Hub window fails: clicks, key presses and menu clicks. The background app_* tools also can't target the window. Started after updating to Claude 2.31226.0 (eb794d) 2026-10-08T05:55:02.000Z.

What Should Happen?

A click on a visible element in the simulator (for example a home-screen icon) should register as a tap. If input is intentionally blocked for this window, the error should say why.

Error Messages/Logs

computer_left_click (x2, fresh screenshot between), computer_key (cmd+shift+h), and a click on the Device menu all return:
Could not verify which document this window is editing. Take a fresh screenshot and retry.

computer_app_screenshot:
No AX window found (requested id: main)

computer_app_menu (list Device menu):
Device Hub does not expose a menu bar (agent process or not fully launched). Use app_click on an in-window control instead, or open_application to launch it first.

computer_app_click:
coordinate values are pixels in the latest app_screenshot's coordinate frame — take an app_screenshot of this window first.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Device Hub with the iPhone 18 Pro simulator selected.
  2. Grant Device Hub access (computer_resolve_access, then computer_request_access). Access is granted at tier "full".
  3. computer_open_application for Device Hub (succeeds).
  4. computer_screenshot (succeeds, shows the simulator).
  5. computer_left_click on a visible home-screen icon at about (567, 367). Fails with the error above, even after a fresh screenshot.

Works: computer_open_application, computer_screenshot. cliclick run locally does click inside the simulator.

Additional Information

Xcode 27 (Device Hub replaces the Simulator app). macOS version: 27.0.1.
Different tool and symptoms, but possibly the same root cause (Xcode 27 / Device Hub breaking synthetic input): #95466 (simulator control tool: taps report success but do nothing on Xcode 27), #95085 (attach/boot targets legacy Simulator.app instead of Device Hub; closed). Also #70532 and #50719 (computer-use clicks blocked by a pre-click check; different error text).
This report is about the computer-use tools (mcp__remote-devices__computer_*), not the iOS Simulator control tool. Those tools can screenshot Device Hub but cannot send input into its window.
