Request

Add a setting so that artifact links (claude.ai/artifact/...) tapped in the Claude mobile apps (and in Claude Code sessions viewed there) open in the system browser (Safari / the default browser) instead of the in-app web view.

Why

Some of us use artifacts as working pages (dashboards, mockups, reports) and always want them in a full browser: its own window or tab next to the app, full screen, tabs kept between visits, normal zoom and reload, sharing to other apps. Today every tap opens the in-app view, and on iPad that view is also only a narrow pane, so the only route is to copy the link and paste it into Safari by hand each time.

I checked the settings available on claude.ai (General: Appearance, Tasks with "Preferred browser" for browsing tasks only, Notifications; Capabilities: Visuals with the Artifacts switches) and found no option for how artifact links open. The "Preferred browser" option applies to Claude's browsing tasks, not to opening links.

Proposal

A setting such as "Open artifacts in: In app / System browser", in the mobile apps (and ideally the desktop app), remembered per device.

Environment: Claude app for iOS and iPadOS (current App Store version, October 2026), Max plan; artifacts published from Claude Code 2.1.294.
