[BUG] Images attached in the Claude iOS app never reach a Remote Control (bridge) Claude Code session
Preflight Checklist

What's Wrong?
In a Claude Code session driven from the Claude iOS app (Remote Control / bridge to a Mac running the Claude desktop app), image attachments sent from the iOS chat never reach the session. The text arrives, but prefixed with a placeholder, and the agent has no way to see the images:
[attachment did not arrive] Are you running this?![2 attachments did not arrive] Email received[3 attachments did not arrive] Yes on 1397. Then: ...
Nothing is written under ~/.claude/uploads/ for the session, and resending doesn't help. It happened on every image send across two days (2026-10-07 and 2026-10-08), at least six times, in long-running sessions. Screenshots are often the key evidence (error banners, UI bugs), so the agent has to guess or the user has to retype what's on screen.
What Should Happen?
Images attached in the iOS app are delivered to the session like text, or at least materialized in ~/.claude/uploads/<session>/ so the agent can read them. If delivery fails, the iOS app should tell the sender instead of silently dropping the images.
Error Messages/Logs
The only signal is the placeholder prefix on the received message: [N attachments did not arrive]. No error is shown in the iOS app.
Steps to Reproduce
- On a Mac, have the Claude desktop app host a Claude Code session that's controlled remotely (Remote Control / bridge).
- In the Claude iOS app, open that session's chat.
- Attach one or more screenshots and send them with some text.
- The session receives only the text, prefixed with
[N attachments did not arrive].
Claude Model
Not model-specific (attachment transport).
Is this a regression?
I don't know.
Claude Code Version
2.1.288 (session CLI); the desktop app bundles 2.1.293
Platform
Claude subscription (Claude desktop app on macOS + Claude iOS app)
Operating System
macOS (Darwin 27.0.0) host, iOS client
Terminal/Shell
Claude desktop app (no terminal); zsh on the host
Additional Information
Workaround: the user drops screenshots into an iCloud Drive folder that the session reads directly.
