Environment
- Claude Code 2.1.293, macOS 27.0.1
- Background session (
claude --bg), resumed across restarts, running for about 3 weeks
What happens
The prompt footer shows PR #103. That PR was the first one opened from this session, on Sep 20, and it was merged long ago. Since then the same session has opened and merged many other PRs, in the same repository and in others, and the footer has never changed.
Expected
The indicator should follow the PR linked to the current work (the most recent one, or the one for the current branch), or disappear once the linked PR is merged or closed.
Steps to reproduce
- Start a session and open a PR from it. The footer shows
PR #N. - Merge that PR.
- In the same session, switch branches and open further PRs over the following days.
- The footer still shows
PR #N.
Notes
- Purely cosmetic; nothing else is affected.
- Survives
--resumeof the same session. - The only workaround found is starting a new conversation, which loses the accumulated context.
- No setting or command seems to clear or re-link the indicator. If one exists, a pointer would be enough.
