Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Environment
Fedora 44 / KDE Plasma
PhpStorm 2026.2
Claude Code with multiple accounts using CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR
---
I use a separate Claude Code profile:
CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR=/home/user/.claude-company

What Should Happen?

Claudia should respect the inherited CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR environment variable and resolve Claude Code credentials/settings from:
$CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR

instead of always using:
~/.claude

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

Environment
Fedora 44 / KDE Plasma
PhpStorm 2026.2
Claude Code with multiple accounts using CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR
---
I use a separate Claude Code profile:
CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR=/home/user/.claude-company

Setup
I use a separate Claude Code profile:
CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR=/home/user/.claude-company

PhpStorm is launched with that environment variable set.
I verified that the actual PhpStorm process has it:
tr '\0' '\n' < /proc/<phpstorm-pid>/environ | grep CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR

Output:
CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR=/home/user/.claude-company

The PhpStorm integrated terminal also shows:
echo "$CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR"

/home/user/.claude-company

And Claude Code itself correctly uses that profile:
claude auth status

reports:
configDirectory: /home/user/.claude-company

Why this matters
This breaks multi-account/profile setups where work and personal Claude accounts use separate config directories.
