A persistent instruction requires trimming disproportionate comments/docstrings as part of every post-merge fix. The model skipped it for several merges and only did it when the user asked about 'the verbose part'; when it then automated the trimming, the first pass produced truncated/broken comments that had to be rewritten by hand.
