Environment: Claude Code Desktop (Windows 11), session controlled via Remote Control from another device.
Current behaviour
- Questions the agent asks via
AskUserQuestion(multiple-choice prompts) are rendered only on the host machine. The Remote Control client shows nothing; plain text messages arrive fine, only the prompt dialogs don't. (Related bug reports: #35637, #28508, #95343 – this request is about the overall remote workflow rather than one rendering bug.) - When a step needs elevation (MSI install/uninstall, deleting from
C:\Program Files), Windows shows the UAC prompt on the host's secure desktop. The remote client gets no hint that a prompt is waiting, and Computer Use cannot interact with it (blocked by UIPI, as documented).
Why this matters
In practice this means any task involving a clarifying question or an admin-level operation requires the user to walk to the host PC, which limits what Remote Control can be used for.
Suggested improvements
- Mirror
AskUserQuestionprompts (and Claude Code permission confirmations) to the Remote Control client so they can be answered from there. - For UAC: show on the remote client that an elevation prompt is pending on the host, so the user knows why the session is waiting. If Windows allows it, offer a way to approve from the remote client; otherwise a clear "needs confirmation at the host machine" notice would already help.
Workarounds I used
- Asked the agent to pose questions as plain text instead of
AskUserQuestion. - Switched my application's installer from per-machine to per-user so updates no longer trigger UAC at all.
