What happens

ListAgents lists every running interactive session, including one that was just opened and has had no user prompt yet. A peer can SendMessage to it.

Why it matters

A session with no prompt has no task and no conversation, so it has nothing to say. Messaging it is equivalent to spawning a subagent, which the sender can already do. It only adds noise to the peer list.

Proposal

  • ListAgents shows only sessions that have received at least one user prompt.
  • SendMessage refuses a session that has not.

Related

  • #92058 scopes messaging to the session's project.
  • #93824 reports dead sessions listed as idle.

Environment

Claude Code 2.1.284, macOS (Darwin 25.5.0), sessions run in VS Code 1.139.0 terminals.
