[BUG] 2.1.284 regression: Bun 1.4.3 panics on startup on Linux x64 (`index out of bounds: the len is 0 but the index is 3`); 2.1.283 works

What's Wrong?

After auto-updating to 2.1.284, claude crashes on launch with a Bun panic before doing anything. The previous version, 2.1.283, still works on the same machine with the same config: running ~/.local/share/claude/versions/2.1.283 directly starts fine.

• Install: native installer (~/.local/bin/claude → ~/.local/share/claude/versions/2.1.284)
• Linux x64, kernel 7.0.0, glibc 2.43
• CPU: sse42 popcnt avx avx2

Possibly related to the 2.1.284 startup change "building only the parts of the settings schema that your settings files actually use". The panic is an empty-array index during startup, but I haven't confirmed that change is the cause.

This is not the same as #94462 (same kernel/glibc, but crashes on every version with segfaults/aborts that vary between runs). This one is a single panic that only 2.1.284 hits.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Linux x64, kernel 7.0.0, glibc 2.43, native install
2. Auto-update from 2.1.283 to 2.1.284
3. Run claude → Bun panic above
4. Run ~/.local/share/claude/versions/2.1.283 → starts normally

Workaround

curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash -s 2.1.283 and export DISABLE_AUTOUPDATER=1.
