[BUG]Gmail / Google Calendar / Google Drive MCP connectors unreachable (NXDOMAIN)

What's Wrong?

Summary: The Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive MCP connectors are failing to connect in Claude Code (VS Code extension). The failures are DNS resolution failures, not authentication failures.

Details:

Affected: gmail.mcp.claude.com, gcal.mcp.claude.com, drive.mcp.claude.com
Harness reports ENOTFOUND for each.
Confirmed independently via nslookup: all three return NXDOMAIN from a residential network, not a corporate/filtered DNS.
Not local: restarted the session entirely, same three still fail.
Other connectors pending OAuth (Slack, Linear, Asana, etc.) are unaffected, that's a separate expected state.
Environment: macOS, Claude Code VS Code extension, observed September 28, 2026.

Impact: Blocks Gmail read/send, Calendar read/write, and Drive read/write, currently holding up League of Nebraska Municipalities ARPA follow-ups and a Google Doc deliverable.

Request: Check whether those three hostnames are resolving / the connector backend is up.

What Should Happen?

I shouldn't get a message saying the connectors aren't working.

Error Messages/Logs

Quick status check before we dive in: Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive are all failing to connect this session (connection errors, not an auth issue), so I can't check your inbox or Drive right now. Worth knowing up front in case that's part of what you wanted to do today.

Steps to Reproduce

Open Claude Code (VS Code extension) with any of these MCP connectors configured: Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Drive

1. Ask Claude to perform any action using one of these connectors (e.g., read an email, check a calendar event, or list a Drive file)
2. Connection fails with error: ENOTFOUND for the connector's hostname

• Gmail: gmail.mcp.claude.com
• Google Calendar: gcal.mcp.claude.com
• Google Drive: drive.mcp.claude.com

1. Confirmed via nslookup on all three hostnames: all return NXDOMAIN (the hostnames do not resolve at all), tested from a normal residential network with no DNS filtering
2. Restarted the entire Claude Code session/VS Code and the same three connectors still fail identically

Note: other MCP connectors pending OAuth authorization (Slack, Linear, Asana, etc.) are unaffected, this is isolated to these three Google-related connectors, and looks like a backend/DNS issue rather than an authentication problem.
