Desktop app: session list empty for weeks while ~/.claude/projects transcripts remain on disk

Description
The Code section in the Claude Desktop app shows no sessions at all (empty session list), and has been in this state for several weeks. This appears to be purely a UI/indexing issue, not data loss - the actual session transcripts are still present and readable.
What I've confirmed
~/.claude/projects/still contains the.jsonltranscript files for my sessions (verified directly on disk).claude --resumefrom the terminal successfully lists and resumes the same sessions that don't appear anywhere in Desktop's UI.- Trying to hand off a CLI session to Desktop via the
/desktopslash command fails with a toast: "Couldn't open that session from Claude Code."
Workaround currently in use
Resuming sessions via claude --resume in the terminal, since Desktop's Code tab shows nothing.
Environment
- Claude Code version: 2.1.283
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (10.0.26200)
- Platform: win32
Expected behavior
Desktop's session list should reflect the sessions that exist under ~/.claude/projects/, including ones resumed or created via the CLI, and should recover automatically (or offer a way to recover) if its internal index falls out of sync with what's actually on disk.
