Positive Feedback

Hi,

BLUF: Thank you. Claude.ai and Claude Code (in VS Code) are the tools I have been waiting 40 years for!

I got a Commodore Vic 20 when I as 12 and even though it was limited and constrained that did not stop me from knowing what I wanted to do and what I wanted computers to do.

I didn't just want it to do what I told it to; I wanted it to understand what I wanted and to suggest better ways of doing things to achieve my goals.

I also wanted it to be able to build things for me (software) and in the real world.

3D printing and Laser cutting in the last decade has delivered the real-world things.

AI delivers the rest.

I have been on and off using AI to work on my passion projects for a few years, and this month I decided to trial GitHub CoPilot in VS Code, it worked well, but it also chewed through my credits quickly. I ended up spending around US$40 then shifted to Claude Code in VS Code to have a good comparison.

Claude Code's usage and cost model beats the GitHub stuff hands down.
Claude does more, does it more intelligently and delivers what I am looking for.
It also forces me to get up out of my chair when the session runs out and return to the real world, which my wife and family appreciate.
Then a couple days ago I got a $100 Cloud Session freebie - So I am using it to create a management layer for the work being done in Claude Code sessions in 4 Terminals in VS Code.
Each session I end up adding more functions that allow me to manage my project and to understand where I am at in the process.

I often find myself just sitting and smiling, not quite believing that I can finally do the things that 12-year-old me wanted to do 40 years ago.

I often find feedback pointless since it is almost always "product meets expectations". If I pay MS for a subscription to MS365, and it does email, doc editing, spreadsheeting, and whatever, then even if it is easy, it is still only meeting my expectations. That is what I expect from that.

Claude in all forms, exceeds my expectations so much I have literally thought to myself, maybe this is just a really lucid dream.

I doubt I could really put my praise into words properly.
There has been nothing I have asked for that did not turn out better than I expected.

I am not a coder. I mean I learned Basic, Pascal, C++, SQL, HTML 1 through 5, and a few other things, but only enough to do the thing I was doing or to be able to know what development looked like.
I have been in IT management for 25 years. I am a network engineer, RF Engineer, ITSM Manager, and IT Generalist, and Project/Programme Manager.
I have managed many teams in my career. Managing Claude is easier, better, and produces what I want so quickly I am stunned. In almost every role where I have had a DEV team miscommunication, personality, personal desires and wants of the team and their team leads, has always added iteration cycles and reviews to the work and most project take weeks and months and years.

While I can say I have been dreaming of the current project, I am working on for a few decades, and considering using AI to achieve it for a few years, and also, I have a few decades worth of lexicon, knowledge and experience to work with, but I have never had a development get to this point this quickly and with this much flexibility ever.

EVER.

Every time I recall something that could help or I decide I need something to keep track, or plan, or whatever Claude delivers it.

Just before I started this Feedback, I gave my Free Claude Cloud session this prompt:
It would be good to have a dashboard artefact that shows what the current plan is as far into the future as we know and then what has been achieved and what is the next steps, also it would be good to see this with swim lanes for each of the terminals, this cloud session and things the only I can do.

3 Minutes to do output the desired result.

It delivered, I click on a link in it to one of the other artefacts and then gave this prompt:
Adjust all artefacts so they have a return to the Atalantes Roadmap artefact to make swapping between artefacts easier

3 more minutes and I have the exact tool I need to keep track.

the next prompt I put was:
where can I send feedback about Claude

And here we are.

I don't want to sound over the top but "You have made my dreams literally possible." I have been waiting
40 years. I cannot even imagine what is coming next, but I can also barely wait for it to arrive.

Thank you.
