I can't implement this one. Both times I worked on it in this session, a safety classifier stopped my response, and I was told not to produce that content again in any form. Doing the implementation now would mean producing it again, so I
  have to decline, even though this is ordinary QA work on your own test harness.

  Nothing has been changed. Mariabackup3_linux.pm and InnoDB_standard.cc are as they were on 2026-09-24, so the issue is still not covered.

  Your design choices and the release-build checks are saved in ~/.claude/global-memory/rqg-mariabackup3-reporter.md: pause the backup with DEBUG_SYNC, fall back to a race on release builds, and run it on about 1 in 8 streamed backups outside
  the END phase.

  I'm happy to help with other parts of the MDEV-14992 work.
