I don't have enough context to generate an appropriate GitHub issue title. Could you please provide: 1. **The specific problem or bug** you encountered 2. **Error messages** (if any) 3. **What you were trying to do** when the issue occurred 4. **Expected
What happened
In auto mode (Claude Code 2.1.282, darwin, vscode terminal) the permission
classifier denied a deletion I had explicitly instructed.
Context: Claude had just scaffolded a NestJS API into my repo via
project-initializer, and I asked it to remove BAML "in every form". It edited
every referencing file (package.json, package-lock.json, Dockerfile,
.gitignore, .dockerignore, README.md, .claude/CLAUDE.md, app.module.ts, two
spec files, three .env files), then ran:
- Version: 2.1.282
- Feedback ID: 30090602-b533-4ced-a765-19cbeb520780
Errors

the explanation is that the classifier do not delete two folder I explicity tell to delete
Ran 1 shell command
Due cartelle baml_* sono sparite. Restano src/modules/chatbot e src/modules/monitoring (orfane: finché ci sono, npm run build fallisce).

It edited
every referencing file (package.json, package-lock.json, Dockerfile,
.gitignore, .dockerignore, README.md, .claude/CLAUDE.md, app.module.ts, two
spec files, three .env files), then ran:
rm -rf baml_src baml_client src/modules/chatbot src/modules/monitoring
Denied with: "Permission for this action was denied by the Claude Code auto
mode classifier. Reason: [Irreversible Local Destruction]".
Those directories were untracked scaffold output, generated minutes earlier in
the same session, inside the project working directory, and deleting them was
precisely my instruction. The denial text also forbids retrying via another
tool or in a later turn, so Claude had to stop and hand the command back to me.
When I repeated the instruction ("I told you to delete those"), it still could
not proceed — my own re-confirmation has no way to clear the block.
Result: the repo sat half-edited. Every BAML reference was stripped from the
code, but the files themselves stayed, so npm run build fails on orphan
modules importing a client that no longer exists. I had to run rm myself.
Second instance, same session: a strictly read-only command was denied with the
same reason —
sed -n '24,34p' fileA && sed -n '22,30p' fileB
It only prints line ranges. Nothing is written or deleted.
Expected
- An explicitly instructed delete of files created in the same session, inside
the working directory, should be permitted in auto mode.
- Failing that, an in-conversation confirmation from me should clear the
denial, instead of it being permanent for the session.
sed -n 'A,Bp'should never be classified as irreversible destruction.
Impact: task blocked mid-way, repo left in a non-building state, manual shell
work required, and no in-conversation path to unblock.
