What were you trying to do?
Reading a private repository's contents (file listing, README) from within a Claude.ai chat inside a Project, using the GitHub connector that was already attached to the Project's Context.
What happened instead?
Claude repeatedly responds "no GitHub connector tool loaded in this conversation" and cannot read the repo, even though:
- GitHub account is connected (Settings > Connectors > GitHub Integration shows a green checkmark)
- Claude GitHub App is installed
- "Check repository status" confirms access to the repo
- The repo is visibly attached in the Project's Context panel (with a GitHub badge)
This happens consistently across multiple new chats within the same Project.
Claude should be able to list files and read file contents from the attached repo, given that all access checks pass.
