What's wrong

On the new-session screen of the Code tab ("What's up next, …?"), pasting or typing a long prompt makes the input box grow past the bottom of the window. The box has an internal scrollbar, but it doesn't reach the end of the text. The bottom toolbar (model picker, send button, attachments) is pushed off-screen. Nothing on the page scrolls, so the end of the prompt and the send controls can't be reached.

Expected

The input box stops growing at some fraction of the window height and scrolls internally. The bottom toolbar stays visible.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Claude Desktop on Linux, Code tab, start a new session (empty-state screen with the greeting and the Local / folder chips).
  2. Paste a prompt of roughly 40+ lines.
  3. The box grows beyond the window; the toolbar is gone; scrolling stops before the last line.

Environment

  • claude-desktop 2.2553.13 (amd64 .deb), Linux (Ubuntu 24.04-based)
  • Code tab, new-session empty state (an Opus 5.5 promo banner was showing above the input box, which may take away part of the height)

#94604 asks for a resizable / height-capped input box (Windows, as a feature request). This report is the broken case: the controls can't be reached at all.
