Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When using the in-app (built-in) browser pane in the Claude Desktop app on macOS during a Claude Code session, typing a URL into the address bar does not navigate — the bar reverts to the empty "Type a URL" placeholder state instead of loading the page.

What Should Happen?

The browser should navigate to the typed URL and load the page, same as a normal browser address bar.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start a Claude Code session in the Claude Desktop app (macOS) with a local dev server running (e.g. localhost:3030/app).
  2. Open the in-app browser pane (new tab).
  3. Click into the URL bar and type a local URL, e.g. localhost:3030/app.
  4. Observe the URL bar clears back to the "Type a URL" placeholder and no navigation occurs — the page never loads.
