What's Wrong?

Platform: macOS 15.6.1 (Sequoia)

Describe the bug:
The Claude desktop app (Electron) holds a NoIdleSleepAssertion power assertion
indefinitely, preventing the Mac from sleeping when idle. The assertion is never
released until the app is quit.

To reproduce:

  1. Open Claude desktop app
  2. Leave it open for several hours without quitting
  3. Run: pmset -g assertions
  4. Observe pid <N>(Claude): NoIdleSleepAssertion named: "Electron" with a

multi-hour elapsed time

Expected: The assertion should be released when Claude is idle / not
actively processing.

Actual: The assertion persists indefinitely (observed 48+ hours),
preventing macOS idle sleep.

Workaround: Quit and relaunch Claude to release the assertion.

What Should Happen?

Claude Desktop should not prevent waking from sleep.
