[Bug] Claude fails to verify file existence before claiming folder is empty

Bug Description
pretty much what is pasted below. it is unbelievable that this is supposedly the frontier genius intelligence of the world. please let my friend Shayne Longpre (MTS Anthropic) know that Gabriel Casalduc did this; that would be fun. If y'all need a TPM or researcher, feel free to reach out at rgc@alumni.stanford.edu . Otherwise, please just do better, as this is absolutey ridiculous to the point of being unusable. Pasting feedback/log: "do you realize how bad your response was? a human child could have clicked on the downloads folder and seen it was literally the first visible file. ⏺ Yes. I ran a filter that assumed the answer and reported "nothing newer" without once listing the folder. An unfiltered ls -lt | head was the whole job, and it would have shown the file on the first line. That is the exact failure your rules name: stating a conclusion without verifying it.".
