Desktop app (Code tab): allow collapsing or hiding the per-repo changes summary above the composer
Preflight Checklist

Problem Statement
Feature request
In the Claude Code desktop app (Code tab), when any repo in the workspace has uncommitted changes, a summary row is pinned above the composer for each repo:
<repo-name> <branch> +718 -0 [Commit changes]
With a multi-repo workspace this adds a permanent block of vertical space above the input box.
Problem
- The rows cannot be collapsed, and there is no setting to hide or restyle them. They stay visible as long as there are uncommitted changes, even when I intentionally keep work-in-progress uncommitted for days.
- I manage git myself (terminal / my own tooling), so the built-in "Commit changes" button is redundant for me, yet the rows remain.
- In a multi-repo workspace the block grows by one row per repo and pushes the session content up.
Request
Please add one (ideally both) of:
- A setting to hide the changes summary entirely (e.g. Settings → Claude Code → "Show changes summary above composer"), and/or
- The ability to collapse the summary rows (per session, with state persisted), leaving just a compact one-line toggle such as "2 repos with changes ›".
Environment
- Claude Desktop for macOS, version 1.11187.4
- Code tab, local workspace with multiple git repos
Proposed Solution
There should be a setting (e.g. Settings → Claude Code → "Show changes summary above composer") that hides the per-repo summary rows entirely for users who manage git themselves.
Alternatively — or additionally — the summary rows should be collapsible: clicking a chevron collapses them into a single compact line like "2 repos with changes ›", and the collapsed state persists per workspace across sessions.
The interface should show nothing (or one collapsed line) above the composer when I'm not interested in the built-in commit flow, and expand back to the full per-repo rows (repo name, branch, +N -M, Commit changes) only when I choose to.
