VS Code webview does not render the Task* tool family (progress/todo panel stays empty)

What's Wrong?

In the Claude Code VS Code extension, the live task/todo progress panel stays empty even when
the agent correctly emits TaskCreate/TaskUpdate calls. Only the raw individual TaskCreate/
TaskUpdate tool-call rows appear; the consolidated task-status checklist (the panel TodoWrite
used to render) never shows.

Tested on VS Code extension v2.1.274 (win32-x64), current at time of filing. The same task list
renders correctly in the JetBrains claude-code-gui 0.30.2 webview.

Note on fast release cadence: the VS Code webview appears mid-rollout of Task* rendering — its
bundle references TaskUpdate but not TaskCreate, while JetBrains claude-code-gui 0.30.2 already
ships the full Task* renderer set. If a newer VS Code build already completes this, please point
to the target version; otherwise the panel is non-functional for Task*-based agents as of 2.1.274.

What Should Happen?

When the agent seeds a task list via TaskCreate and updates it via TaskUpdate, the VS Code
webview should render a live consolidated task-status checklist (pending / in-progress /
completed) that updates as the run progresses — the same panel TodoWrite produced before the
harness switched to the Task* tool family.

Error Messages/Logs

No error is thrown — this is a silent rendering gap, not a crash. Supporting evidence:
- A session where the agent emitted 14x TaskCreate + 24x TaskUpdate, yet no consolidated
  checklist rendered in the VS Code panel.
- grep of the v2.1.274 webview bundle (webview/index.js): "TaskCreate" = 0 occurrences,
  "TaskUpdate" = 2 — no TaskCreate handling, only partial TaskUpdate refs.
- JetBrains claude-code-gui 0.30.2 webview registers TaskCreate/TaskUpdate/TaskList/TaskGet/
  TaskOutput/TaskStop renderers.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Use the Claude Code VS Code extension (v2.1.274).
2. Run any prompt/agent that makes the model seed a task list (emit TaskCreate, then TaskUpdate

to move items pending -> in_progress -> completed).

1. Observe the panel: individual TaskCreate/TaskUpdate tool rows appear, but no consolidated

live task-status checklist renders.
