Sidebar shows no sessions after update — local data intact but not loaded

What's Wrong?

Bug: Sidebar shows no sessions/projects after update, chat history "disappeared"
Environment

Claude desktop app version: 2.110.0
macOS version: 26.6.2
Platform: darwin
Description The sidebar in the Code tab no longer lists any chats/sessions or custom groups. Previously the sidebar showed a custom group ("laserbrain") with sessions, plus several other sessions under "Sonstiges" (Other). After a period of normal use, the sidebar emptied out to show essentially nothing.

Steps taken / troubleshooting so far

Restarted the app (window close + reopen) — issue persisted.
Fully quit and relaunched the app — issue persisted.
Updated the app to the latest version (2.110.0) — issue persisted.
Search still works and can find old content, but the sidebar session/group list stays empty.
Diagnostic info

Internal session-management tools (list_sessions, list_groups) report zero sessions and zero groups — this is the same backend the sidebar reads from, so the failure is not purely a rendering glitch.
Verified the underlying data is NOT lost: local session files still exist on disk under ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/local-agent-mode-sessions/<workspace-id>/<window-id>/local_*.json — found 15 session JSON files there, ranging from 45KB–158KB, with modification dates spanning July–September 2026, i.e. the actual chat content is intact on disk.
The user has significantly more chats than that (100+), most of which likely live in the cloud/account rather than as local files — those cannot be verified from the local filesystem, but the sidebar shows none of them either.
Expected behavior Sidebar should list all local and cloud-synced sessions/projects/groups as before.

Actual behavior Sidebar is empty ("Kein Ordner" section only shows the currently open chat); no groups, no other sessions, even though the underlying local session data still exists on disk.

Impact User cannot browse or resume any previous chats/projects through the UI, even though the data itself appears intact.

What Should Happen?

Chats and Projects should show on sidebar as usual.
