Description

The Windows tray icon context menu shows a single "Usage: X%" line with no label indicating which limit it refers to. In Settings → Plan usage limits, usage is broken into two separate metrics: "Current session" and "Weekly limits (All models)".

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Claude desktop app on Windows, signed in to a Pro plan.
  2. Right-click the tray icon to open the context menu — note the "Usage: X%" value shown.
  3. Open the app and go to Settings → Plan usage limits.
  4. Compare the tray value against "Current session" and "All models" (weekly) values.

Observed

  • Tray menu: Usage: 29%
  • Settings — Current session: 1% used (resets in 4 hr 52 min)
  • Settings — Weekly limits (All models): 29% used (resets in 14 hr 22 min)

The tray value matches the weekly figure, not the current session, but nothing in the tray UI indicates this. Since the tray menu is a compact/at-a-glance surface, users reasonably assume it reflects the current session (the more immediately actionable number), so this reads as inconsistent/wrong at a glance.

Expected

Either:

  • Label the tray percentage explicitly (e.g. "Weekly usage: 29%"), or
  • Show the current-session percentage in the tray instead, since that's the more actionable rolling metric, or
  • Show both values.

Environment

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro, build 10.0.26200
  • Plan: Pro
