Cowork scheduled task auto-pauses permanently after a missed run instead of catch-up (contradicts documented behavior)

What's wrong
Documentation (support.claude.com, "Schedule recurring tasks in Claude Cowork") states that when a scheduled task's time arrives while the computer is asleep or the app is closed, Cowork should skip that run and automatically catch up once the computer wakes / app reopens, with a notification. Instead, the task is being flipped to Paused and does not resume or catch up on its own — it stays paused until I notice and manually resume it.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a recurring Cowork scheduled task.
  2. Have the computer be off/asleep (or app closed) at a scheduled run time.
  3. Wake the computer / reopen the app.
  4. Observe: task shows as "Paused" in the Scheduled tasks list rather than having run a catch-up execution.

Expected behavior
Per documentation, the missed run should be skipped and the task should run automatically on next wake, with a notification — the task should remain active/enabled throughout.

Actual behavior
Task is toggled to Paused and does not reactivate or catch up on its own.

Environment

  • Claude Desktop (Cowork)
  • OS: Windows 11
  • App version: not specified
