Environment

  • Claude Desktop 1.49585.0 (Linux)
  • Claude Code 2.1.266
  • Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm), kernel 6.1.0-53-amd64

Summary

The Directory → Plugins panel renders a plugin list that does not match the
marketplaces on disk. Cards are duplicated, cards appear under a marketplace that
does not declare them, and there is no control in the panel that uninstalls an
installed plugin.

1. Duplicate cards under the wrong marketplace

With the Code tab selected and the caveman marketplace chip active, the grid
shows five cards: "Diagram design" four times and "Caveman" once.

On disk, each marketplace declares exactly one plugin:

~/.claude/plugins/marketplaces/caveman/.claude-plugin/marketplace.json
    declares 1 plugin: caveman
~/.claude/plugins/marketplaces/diagram-design/.claude-plugin/marketplace.json
    declares 1 plugin: diagram-design

Expected: selecting caveman shows one card, Caveman.
Actual: four duplicated Diagram design cards plus one Caveman card.

The same repetition appears under the Personal tab.

claude plugin list on the same machine returns the correct set of 6 plugins, one
per marketplace, so the underlying configuration is fine and the panel is
misrendering it.

2. No working uninstall in the panel

Each card carries a gear icon. Activating it does not uninstall the plugin.

The only action that actually removes a plugin is removing the whole marketplace
source
from the marketplace chip's ··· menu. That worked for a single-plugin
marketplace (nopus): its body was deleted from disk within minutes, leaving a
stale entry in manifest.json.

For the pm-skills marketplace (9 plugins), repeated attempts through the panel
removed nothing. Verified on disk after the attempts:

manifest.json rewritten at 01:49:30 (after the attempts)
manifest entries: 20 bodies present on disk: 20
entries whose body was deleted: none
pm-skills plugins still present (9): pm-ai-shipping, pm-data-analytics,
  pm-execution, pm-go-to-market, pm-market-research, pm-marketing-growth,
  pm-product-discovery, pm-product-strategy, pm-toolkit

Expected: a per-plugin uninstall control, or at minimum a marketplace removal that
works consistently for multi-plugin marketplaces.
Actual: no per-plugin uninstall appears to exist in this panel, and the
marketplace-level removal did not take effect for pm-skills.

3. Stale manifest entries after uninstall

When a plugin is genuinely uninstalled, its directory under rpm/plugin_<id>/ is
deleted but its entry remains in rpm/manifest.json. Any tool reading the manifest
to determine what is installed will report the plugin as still present. Checking
whether rpm/<plugin id> exists on disk is currently the only reliable signal.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Directory → Plugins in the desktop app.
  2. Select the Code tab, then a marketplace chip that declares a single plugin.
  3. Compare the cards shown against that marketplace's marketplace.json.
  4. Under the Personal tab, attempt to uninstall an individual plugin from a

multi-plugin marketplace, then check whether rpm/plugin_<id>/ was removed.

Impact

The panel cannot be used to see what is installed or to remove it. Users who want
to remove a plugin have no reliable path, and plugins they believe they removed
keep loading into sessions.
