Environment

  • Claude Code 2.1.257
  • Remote Control session driven from an Android phone
  • Host: macOS (Darwin 25.5.0)

Steps to reproduce

  1. In a Remote Control session on Android, start a new message.
  2. Explicitly select claude-fable-5-1 as the model before sending.
  3. Send the message.

Expected
The turn runs on Fable 5.1.

Actual
The turn starts on Opus 5 (claude-opus-5[1m]). I have to interrupt, run /model claude-fable-5-1 again, and re-send. After re-selecting, the model sticks for that turn.

Notes

  • Reproduces consistently on new messages sent from the Android remote client.
  • Suggests the model selection made in the remote client isn't being applied to the outgoing request, or the session's default model is overriding the per-message selection.
