Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When a jetbrains IDE is running and has the claude code extension, it provides internal tools as skills and mcp to claude code which helps claude code being more efficient and faster.

Using the "claude" plugin in the IDE opens the integrated terminal of the IDE and correctly detects the opened project as the root.
But the integrated terminal has many limitations, for ex you can not drop images into it.

Using the Windows Terminal app on Windows, you can start claude code in the same folder where the IDE is opened, then tapping "/ide" should connect to that IDE. But it does not.

What Should Happen?

The connection fails to find the IDE, maybe because claude code compares Windows paths to wsl2 paths, even if those point to the same folder.
