Not the CLI. This is Cowork on claude.ai in the browser (Chrome, macOS), on the project page and the Recents list.

What happens

Every session row I have not opened carries a small blue dot at the end of its title, and scheduled tasks show a "N new" count in the sidebar. There is no way to switch either off and no way to mark them read in bulk.

For an account that runs a dozen scheduled tasks, the dots are permanent. Mine currently reads 207 new on one task and 73 new on another — every one of those runs is an unattended job whose result was already reported elsewhere, so the indicator never carries information, it just never clears. The result is a Recents list where the marker is on almost everything, which is the same as it being on nothing.

What I checked

Settings on claude.ai (General → Appearance / Notifications, and the Cowork tab) has response-completion, Code, permission-request, email and Dispatch push toggles. Nothing about read state or the list indicator. Nothing in the Cowork docs or help centre either.

Asking for one of

  1. A setting to disable the unread dot / "N new" counter on session and scheduled-task rows, or
  2. A Mark all as read action on the Recents list and on a scheduled task, or
  3. Both, with the dot suppressed by default for trigger-spawned sessions, since a scheduled run finishing is not news the way a reply to a chat is.

Related

  • #72468 — asks for the status dots to be higher contrast or configurable (desktop). Neighbouring, but that one wants to tell the dots apart; this one wants to be able to turn them off on the web.
  • #79126 — closed; raised no-mark-all-read for the desktop Routines sidebar.
  • #64193 — closed as duplicate; yellow dot never clearing, desktop.

None of them covers claude.ai Cowork in the browser, which is where I work.

CLI-only template fields (version, model, platform, terminal) are not applicable.
