Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
My GitHub repository does not appear / is not readable via the "Add from GitHub" feature in claude.ai Chat, even though the GitHub App connection itself now completes without error.
GitHub Username: RamonRDR
Repository: python-study-guide (https://github.com/RamonRDR/python-study-guide)
What Should Happen?
After connecting the GitHub App with access granted to python-study-guide, the repository and its files should be browsable and readable via "Add from GitHub" in Chat.
Error Messages/Logs
{"type":"error","error":{"type":"invalid_request_error","message":"state: Field required"},"request_id":"req_011Cem1kqkB852j8n5oHNySX"}
(also occurred previously with request_id req_011CekzjSLsJs5bpywwsdYfB)
Steps to Reproduce
- Install the Claude GitHub App (Claude Github MCP Connector) with access to the python-study-guide repository
- Received "state: Field required" error during the connection/redirect flow
- Revoked authorization on GitHub's side and reinstalled the app from scratch
- Reconnected the GitHub integration in claude.ai Settings > Connectors — connection now completes without error
- In a Chat conversation, used "Add from GitHub" and selected the python-study-guide repository
- No files appear to browse/select, and Claude is unable to read repository content
