/feedback requires Anthropic login — users on third-party-hosted models (Azure) cannot submit feedback
Environment: Claude Code CLI on macOS (darwin), model served via Azure (model ID microsoft/claude-fable-5), no Anthropic account.
What happened: Claude drafted feedback via its SendFeedback tool during a session (queued locally, as designed). Running /feedback to review and send the queued reports prompts for an Anthropic login. Users on third-party-hosted deployments (Azure/Bedrock/Vertex) may not have an Anthropic account, so the send step is a dead end — feedback from these deployments cannot be submitted at all.
Expected: A send path that works for enterprise/third-party deployments (e.g., anonymous submission, a token-less endpoint, or an export option), or at minimum a clear message pointing to an alternative channel (e.g., this issue tracker) instead of a login prompt.
Repro:
- Run Claude Code against an Azure-hosted model endpoint without an Anthropic login.
- Accumulate one or more queued feedback drafts.
- Run
/feedbackand attempt to send → login prompt blocks submission.
Note: This report itself had to be filed via GitHub because of the bug it describes.
