Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Environment

  • Claude Code v2.1.x (stable)
  • tui: "fullscreen" (settings.json)
  • macOS, Apple Terminal, TERM=xterm-256color

Description
In the fullscreen TUI, double-clicking a token rendered inside an inline-code span selects the code plus any punctuation immediately following the closing backtick.

This bug is specific to /tui fullscreen. /tui default works fine, and selecting text outside of Claude does not have this bug.

Impact
Silently corrupts copied/double-clicked identifiers — filenames, paths, flags, session names. Real examples: pasting a double-clicked filename into !open <path>.md. fails ("file does not exist") from the stray dot, and /rename <name>. sets a dotted session name. Anything downstream that validates strictly breaks; things that don't fail silently.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Have Claude render a sentence that ends with inline code + a period, e.g.:

> Saved to notes.md.

  1. Double-click notes.md to select it.

What Should Happen?

Actual: selection is notes.md. (trailing period included).
Expected: selection is notes.md — only the inline-code contents.

Claude Model

Opus

Is this a regression?

Yes, this worked in a previous version (before /tui fullscreen was introduced)
