[BUG] Prompt autocomplete moved above the input and shows only 2-3 matches, with no way to configure it

Environment: Claude Code 2.1.236 (Homebrew cask), terminal CLI, macOS arm64 (Darwin 25.6.0)

What changed: The autocomplete list for prompt input used to render below the input line. It now renders above it, and shows only about 2-3 entries at a time.

Why this is a problem: The value of the list is scanning candidates at a glance. With 2-3 visible I can't do that. Arrow-key scrolling is not a substitute, because the list gives no indication of how many total matches exist — so there's no way to know whether the item I want is one keypress away, ten, or not there at all. The result is guess-and-scroll on something that used to be a single glance.

Request: Make both the position and the visible item count configurable in settings.json. If position must stay fixed, at minimum surface the match count (e.g. 3 of 17) so scrolling is bounded rather than open-ended.

Note: I checked the 2.1.236 binary for an existing setting — the only suggestion-related key is promptSuggestionEnabled, which controls the follow-up-prompt feature, not this menu. So there appears to be no user-facing control today.
