What's Wrong?

Setting DISABLE_FEEDBACK_COMMAND=1 does not disable the /feedback and /bug
commands in the Claude Code VS Code extension.

Actual: /feedback and /bug still appear in the slash-command autocomplete,
and invoking /feedback opens the fully functional report dialog ("This
report includes your feedback, environment info, and the current session
transcript", Send button active). No refusal, no disabled state.

Why it matters: /feedback transcripts carry 5-year retention. We are a
trade union (GDPR/DPIA context) and need the transcript-upload path
technically blocked, not just discouraged by instruction — this variable
is the documented mechanism and it does not work here.

Docs gap alongside the bug: the documentation does not state whether the
variable should hide the commands or refuse them at invocation, nor
whether the VS Code extension honors it differently from the terminal
CLI. Please clarify the intended semantics with the fix.

What Should Happen?

Expected (per https://code.claude.com/docs/en/data-usage: "To opt out, set
the DISABLE_FEEDBACK_COMMAND environment variable to 1"): /feedback, /bug
and /share are disabled — hidden from the command list, or refused on
invocation.

Steps to Reproduce

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Set DISABLE_FEEDBACK_COMMAND=1 at Windows User scope

([Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable('DISABLE_FEEDBACK_COMMAND','1','User'))
AND in the top-level "env" block of ~/.claude/settings.json.

  1. Fully close and relaunch VS Code.
  2. Confirm the variable is live: echo $env:DISABLE_FEEDBACK_COMMAND in the

integrated terminal returns 1; the variable is also present in the
environment of Claude Code's Bash and PowerShell tool shells.

  1. In the Claude Code panel, type "/fee".
