Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When I ask Claude code any question, for which the response goes beyond the current visible window, I am unable to use the mouse scroll to see the output beyond this visible terminal window (even after when Claude has finished the response). The only option which is very incovenient is to use to select the content and move the mouse upwards to see the previous output content.

What Should Happen?

When I ask Claude code any question, for which the response goes beyond the current visible window, the mouse scroll should scroll up the output content and the historical prompts & outputs in that session, just like it happens in any regular terminal window.

Error Messages/Logs

No error message, it's a behaviour issue.

Steps to Reproduce

Open Claude Code in a terminal window inside IntelliJ.
Ensure the terminal window height is small enough that a long response will exceed the currently visible area.
Enter a prompt that generates a lengthy response (for example, ask for a detailed explanation of a technical topic or request a large code sample).
Wait for Claude Code to finish generating the response.
Attempt to scroll through the generated output using the mouse wheel or touchpad scrolling gesture.
Observe that the terminal view does not scroll to display content outside the currently visible window.
Try to view previously generated content that is above or below the visible region.
Notice that the only available workaround is to click-and-drag text selection and move the mouse upward/downward to force the terminal view to follow the selection.
