Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The Claude desktop app on Windows signs me out about once a day. Each time I have to request a verification code by email and re-enter it. This happens during periods of active daily use, not after idle time.

OS: Windows [version]
Desktop app version: [Help → About]
Login method: email verification code
Account type: individual (not org-managed)
Frequency: roughly every 24 hours, ongoing for [weeks/months]
VPN in use: [yes/no]

Anthropic support confirmed there is no documented 24-hour idle timeout for the desktop app on an individual account, no session-length setting exists on individual accounts, and support cannot diagnose or change it. I was told the documented 28-day web session and the org session-security settings do not apply here.

Active sessions in Settings → Account show nothing unexpected. No credential-cleaning tools run on this machine.

This appears related to the auth-loop reports in this thread.

What Should Happen?

I should not need to sign in every single day.

Error Messages/Logs
