[BUG] Dictation stops and cannot be resumed after a mid-message pause (Claude Desktop, Windows)

What's Wrong?

While dictating a message, pausing briefly — e.g. to think about what to say
next, without clicking anything — causes the in-progress dictation to
auto-convert into typed text in the input box. Once that happens, the mic
icon disappears completely and cannot be reactivated to continue the same
message. The only way to add more content is to type the rest by hand.

What Should Happen?

Dictation should be resumable into a message that already has content,
including content that dictation itself just produced. A natural thinking
pause shouldn't remove the mic from the input box or block further voice
input into that message.

Error Messages/Logs

I use voice dictation for long, detailed technical messages. Losing the mic
mid-thought means falling back to hand-typing for the rest of every message
where I pause even briefly — which defeats the purpose of dictation.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open a chat in Claude Desktop (Windows), empty input box.
2. Click the mic, dictate a sentence or two.
3. Pause naturally without clicking anything, as if thinking.
4. Dictation auto-stops; the spoken text appears in the box; mic icon disappears.
5. No way to resume voice input into that same message — must type manually.
