[BUG] auto-compact configuration toggles as one goes through status tabs without explicit user attempt to change it

What's Wrong?

When I check status (/status) and then use the tab key to go from Status to Config, the auto-compact automatically toggles (between off and on).

What Should Happen?

I believe this should only happen if I actually use the Enter key (given it's the top item), or better, require that I use the down arrow key to highlight the particular configuration item and then use the enter key to toggle it.
