What's Wrong?

Description

When using the in-app Browser pane tool to navigate to an itch.io page, the entire Claude Code application crashes/closes. Reopening the app afterward fails — it reports that the app needs to be reinstalled, and a full reinstall is required before the app will launch again.

What Should Happen?

Expected behavior

The Browser pane should handle the Cloudflare challenge page gracefully without crashing the entire host application, and should never require a full reinstall to recover.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

Steps to reproduce

  1. In a Claude Code session, use the Browser pane tool to navigate to an itch.io URL (e.g. https://itch.io/game-assets/free/tag-chibi/tag-sprites)
  2. itch.io shows a Cloudflare "Just a moment..." bot-check/verification interstitial page
  3. Shortly after, the entire Claude Code application closes
  4. Attempting to reopen the application fails with a message indicating it needs to be reinstalled
  5. A full reinstall of the application is required to use Claude Code again

Environment

  • OS: Windows 10 Home
  • Reproduced consistently across multiple attempts to load itch.io pages within the same session
