[Feature Request] Daemon mode with background process management and session persistence

Bug Description
I was trying to setup Claude Code the way Codex works for remote sessions using /bg but the daemon died overnight and it was not possible to resurrect it without logging into my VM and running "claude agents".

Codex runs a daemon on the VM where I can access it via the desktop and mobile apps very easily and it resurrects a session automatically. With Claude Code I must enter the VM via a terminal and resurrect a session or keep running it in a screen or tmux session.

The remote control experience is therefore MUCH better on Codex than Claude Code right now.
