Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

After waking the computer from sleep, Claude does not come back up on its own, while other applications that were open before sleep are still present and running normally. This happens consistently, not as a rare one-off.

This may be related to the window-restore behavior described in the closed/locked #39336 (main window doesn't reappear after closing, only a non-functional quick-entry bar via the tray icon, left-click). That issue is specifically about closing the window; this report is about the same kind of "window doesn't come back" symptom, but triggered by sleep/wake instead.

What Should Happen?

Claude should relaunch/reappear automatically after the PC wakes from sleep, the same way other applications that were running before sleep do.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Have Claude Desktop / Claude Code running normally, with other applications also open.
  2. Put the PC to sleep (or let it go to sleep automatically).
  3. Wake the PC.
  4. Other applications that were open before sleep are still present and running.
  5. Claude does not come back up on its own.

This happens consistently across sleep/wake cycles, not as an occasional glitch.
