[BUG] Claude Code for VS Code extension

What's Wrong?

Thrre is an issue when Claude starts in the VS Code "Claude" extension window. The cursor is placed below the "editor" box. and I can start typing. When this happens I have to close the extension window and try again by opening the extension window again.

What Should Happen?

I should be able to type in the edit box

Error Messages/Logs

There are no reported errors

Steps to Reproduce

1. Click on Claude Code icon in Vs Code
2. The Claude window should open
3. Claude should start in that window
4. I click in the edit box in Claude
5. The characters that are typed are displayed under the edit box...not _in_ the edit box.
6. Tap enter and the typed text goes away.
7. I have to close the Claude window and reopen a new window
