[Bug] Mid-turn messages not rendered despite being sent to API

Bug Description
When I interact with this conversation mid-turn, I send these big long messages, and then I don't see a response to them. And then Claude just gaslights me and says, "Oh, I already responded mid-turn", but it's never rendered to me. FWIW, I was connected from remote control on my phone at the time, but I also checked on the computer and there's no record of those mid-turn messages here either.
