Problem Statement
This is our intellectual property, not yours, you have no right to embed watermarks in code which belongs to us. This needs to stop now. The EU, as always, is a train wreck of an organisation as demonstrated and proven by the fact that 8 billion people have to dismiss several cookie warnings every day, they should not have a bearing on the code generated by claude.
Claude should be focussed on writing optimal code, not compromising optimisation in order to embed a watermark.
This is an invasion of privacy, its an invasion of our IPR, and it needs to be stopped today.
A bigger concern today is what this could become.
Today you can tell that code is watermark stamped and therefore AI generated.
Tomorrow it might be date and time stamped, claude stamped, and eventually this could have implications in due diligence, insurance, security, plagiarism, copyright disputes, software licensing.... And what about false positives, this code carries a claude watermark, but it was in that 0.01% of code that collided with it and wasn't claude generated at all.
The thing is, code which is 99% human written could easily pick up a claude watermark and therefore quality as claude written code just because claude fixed one bug in it. That's not reasonable.
This is spyware, its state intervention, its interference, its wrong. You're stamping my code as yours, It isn't.
MAKE IT STOP
