What happened
I am repeatedly getting API Error: 529 Overloaded during normal interactive Claude Code sessions. It interrupts work mid-task and keeps recurring, so this is not a one-off transient blip on my end.
Expected behavior
Requests complete normally, or the CLI retries transparently until capacity is available instead of surfacing repeated 529 errors to the user.
Notes
I understand 529 is a server-side capacity signal, but the frequency is high enough to disrupt paid usage. Related open reports of the same problem include #84337, #78051, and #73066. Filing this to add another data point that the problem is still occurring as of 2026-08-12.
