[Bug] /desktop handoff fails to import long/compacted sessions silently
Bug Description
Title: /desktop handoff opens the desktop app with the correct workspace, but the conversation is never imported (long/compacted session)
Summary
Running /desktop from the CLI opens the Claude desktop app and correctly carries over the
workspace context (the composer chips show "Local / pgm-web-backend-real / test29"), but the
conversation itself is never imported: no project/session for this repo appears in the sidebar,
and the app just sits on the home screen. The sidebar only shows an unrelated pre-existing
project (DB_UPLOADER with one "General coding session"). No error message is shown anywhere.
Environment
- Claude Code CLI: 2.1.227
- Claude desktop app: 1.26832.0 (Code tab), up to date at the time of testing
- OS: macOS 15.7.7
- Terminal: PyCharm's integrated terminal (zsh)
- Plan/auth: Claude Max subscription login (same account in CLI and desktop app)
