Problem Statement

Cross-device session continuity in Claude Code (paying Max customer, business use)

I'm a Max subscriber who uses Claude Code daily to run my business, lab-consulting operations, not just code. My single biggest friction, and a real reason I'd consider switching vendors, is that Claude Code agents are locked to the computer they were created on.

What I expect, and what I get from competitors like Perplexity: I log into my account on any computer and my conversations are there, ready to continue. Regular Claude (claude.ai) already works this way. Claude Code does not.

The "Continue in → Cloud" option is not a substitute:

It requires the project to be a git repository. My agents run from my home folder, so clicking it silently produces nothing, no session, no error, no explanation.
It assumes a code-repo workflow. Much of my Claude Code use is documents and operations, not a git project.
When it fails, there is zero feedback. That cost me a great deal of time trying to figure out why "the session wasn't there."
What I want is simple from a user's point of view: my signed-in agents should be visible and resumable on any computer I log into, with no repos, no cloud environment setup, and no leaving a machine running.

This is a genuine switch-vendor risk. I'd rather stay, but cross-device continuity is table stakes and I can get it elsewhere today.
