Bug Description
Just now, after the 5-hour limit had been reset, I returned to Claude Code and loaded a 10 MB conversation – though I hadn’t actually been chatting – then I entered the command /clear and loaded anoth
er 1.7 MB conversation, and entered / compact on that conversation, I suddenly got a message saying I’d used up my 5-hour limit, even though the conversation itself only takes up 63k tokens. So how on earth would the model have used up the entire 5-hour limit (I was using Opus 5, but that’s still only 63k??? Did ‘compact’ use up the whole limit? Even though it worked fine before?)? Please sort this out; otherwise, I’ll simply cancel my subscription if this sort of thing is going to keep happening. Unless you can explain to me in a logical way how this was supposed to have happened?
