[BUG] Cannot copy text from Claude CLI terminal session on RHEL 9 / GNOME Terminal

What's Wrong?

When running Claude CLI in GNOME Terminal on RHEL 9, I cannot copy text from the Claude session to paste into other terminals or applications.

What Should Happen?

Text should copy to clipboard and be pasteable elsewhere

1. Start Claude CLI in GNOME Terminal on RHEL 9
2. Let Claude output text (e.g., a suggested command)
3. Try to highlight and copy the text using standard methods (Ctrl+Shift+C, right-click copy, etc.)
4. Attempt to paste into another terminal

Description:
When running Claude CLI in GNOME Terminal on RHEL 9, I cannot copy text from the Claude session to paste into other terminals or applications.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start Claude CLI in GNOME Terminal on RHEL 9
2. Let Claude output text (e.g., a suggested command)
3. Try to highlight and copy the text using standard methods (Ctrl+Shift+C, right-click copy, etc.)
4. Attempt to paste into another terminal

Expected behavior:
Text should copy to clipboard and be pasteable elsewhere

Actual behavior:

• Text can be highlighted but doesn't enter the clipboard
• Cannot paste the highlighted text anywhere
• Normal copy/paste works fine when Claude exits
• Even attempts to programmatically put text in clipboard from within Claude session fail

Environment:

• OS: RHEL 9
• Terminal: GNOME Terminal
• Claude Code CLI version: 2.1.223

Impact:
Highly annoying - workaround is to manually retype commands, but significantly impacts workflow efficiency
